GM

Spread the love ❤️

If you’ve spent any amount of time in the NFT space you know how important it is to say GM to your NFT friendos.

A bit ago @goofyfroot asked me for my take on the GM phenomenon and I said this:

Love it or hate it, saying GM has grown into a cultural touchstone in the NFT space. Similar to greeting your coworkers at the beginning of the work day, saying GM and sharing a virtual cup of coffee in the Twitter break room prepares artists for another day of creating, connecting, and…shilling. 😜

(Go follow Goofy Froot.)

I’ve been trying very hard to stick to my rule of “create before you consume” so on January 12 I decided to commit to making a quick piece of art each morning before I was allowed to go on Twitter. Some days I have more time than others, some days I don’t get on Twitter until noon, but however it sorts out I feel like I’ve accomplished something that day and it’s been HUGE.

And so, behold, all the GM art I’ve made so far! I hope you feel properly welcomed to the new day.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention Sunshine DAO here, though I’m not sure what the plans are after the surprise airdrop we received for simply greeting our friends every morning. I’ve staked all of my GM tokens…so we’ll see if anything comes of it! (Not financial advice, but I don’t mind playing with house money every once in a while as an experiment!)

That’s one of the fun things about NFTs. Participating in the ecosystem is rewarding whether it’s friendship, opportunities, art sales, airdrops…you just never know what will happen when you show up and play around.
